Des Moines, IA (KICD) — Nominations for Heroes of the Heartland are being accepted.
  The American Red Cross serving Greater Iowa is looking for common citizens, the unheralded and unselfish pillars of our communities.

Nominations for the Heroes of the Heartland events held in Spencer, Fort Dodge and Sioux City are now being accepted.    Josh Nuss is with the American Red Cross.  He shares what the Heroes of the Heartland is all about…

  In the broadcast area, the Iowa Great Lakes Chapter Spencer office serves Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth and Palo Alto counties. The Siouxland Chapter Sioux City office serves Buena Vista, Cherokee, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sac, and Sioux Counties. The Brushy Creek Chapter Fort Dodge office serves Pocahontas County.
  Nominations will be accepted January 1st through January 31st, online at www.redcross.org/iowa.  Nominations may also be mailed to the American Red Cross serving Greater Iowa regional office; 2116 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA
  The annual Heroes of the Heartland events will be held in Fort Dodge: Tuesday, March 25th from 11:30-am to 1:00-pm, in Sioux City Thursday, March 27th, beginning at 5:30, and in Spencer, Tuesday, April 1st from 11:30 to 1-pm.
