Des Moines, IA (KICD) — A man who saved two people is receiving an award.

On Friday, Governor Terry Branstad is presenting the Lifesaving Awards & Outstanding Service Awards at the Susan Knapp Amphitheater of the Iowa State Fair

The award for Outstanding Service will be presented to Seth Thompson of Treynor, who was on his way to work in Okoboji, on December 14, 2009, and then rescued Jesus Alvarado and Joshua Allsup from icy waters after the truck they were in went out of control, due to icy conditions, and wound up on it’s top in a creek.
