Alta, IA (AP) – An Alta man uses a different product in creating a statue.

Kevin Pingel used 600 golf balls to make a 6-foot-tall statue of a golfer swinging a club. The statue in Alta is just a showing of his love for golf.
Pingel says he decided to create the statue after coll ecting hundreds of golf balls from his yard on a golf course.
He says he welded together metal rods to form the shape of the man and drilled holes in the golf balls to put them on the rods.
Pingel began the project last November and completed the 100-pound statute in May.
