Gales Appointed 3A District Judge

Algona, IA (KICD)–An Algona attorney has been appointed as a district associate court judge of the Third Judicial District by the district court judges of the 3A judicial election sub-district.
Ann Gales tells KICD News she is slated to to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of District Associate Judge Donald J. Bormann.

District associate judges have the jurisdiction of judicial magistrates plus authority to hear serious and aggravated misdemeanor cases, civil suits in which the amount in controversy is $10,000 or less, and juvenile cases when the judge is sitting as a juvenile judge.

Gales says she has practiced extensively in juvenile and criminal court for over a decade and is comfortable with the subject manner.

Judge-elect Ann M. Gales  will be sworn-in at a public ceremony on February 21st at 3:00 pm at the Kossuth County Courthouse.  A public reception will be held at the Kossuth County Courthouse following the ceremony.
