Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake man has pleaded not guilty in court to possessing firearms as a felon.

In Buena Vista County District Court Thursday, 21-year-old William Kurtz entered the written plea to 3 counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Prohibited Acquisition of a Pistol. The charges stem from a February 17th arrest, after an undercover officer set up a meeting at which he exchanged a gun with Kurtz, and accepted cash for a down payment on another gun. Officers then searched Kurtz’ home, and found another gun, along with ammunition magazines, and several hundred rounds of ammunition..

His trial is set for July 8th.
