Estherville Phone Threats


Estherville, IA (KICD) — An Estherville man is arrested after threatening a dispatcher.
On Sunday, Estherville Police were called to the Emmet County Law Enforcement Center in reference to a male who allegedly made threats over the phone to an Emmet County Dispatcher. The male was upset that his dog had been impounded for running at large.

A short time later Estherville Police Officers made contact with 51-year old Chris Anderson¬†at the Law Enforcement Center.¬†Anderson refused to sign the police citation and was subsequently arrested by Estherville Police for Control of Animals and Interference with Officials Acts. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office charged Anderson with 1 count of assault on a jailer and 1 count of assault on a peace officer.

Anderson was placed in the Emmet County Jail where he is being held on $1000.00 cash or surety bond. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
