Estherville Man Charged With Sexual Assault

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–An Estherville man has arrested in connection an alleged sexual assault in Storm Lake.

Storm Lake Police allege that between September 1st and October 31st of 2008 26-year-old Trent Prather worked as a community service supervisor for the Buena Vista County Juvenile Courts Office. He allegedly engaged in a sex act with a 14-year-old juvenile female who was a client of the Juvenile Court System. The investigation reports that Prather promised to eliminate the victim’s court assigned community service hours in exchange for sex.

Prather has been charged with a class C felony count of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. He was arrested by the Estherville Police Department and held on a $10,000 bond awaiting transfer to the Buena Vista County Jail.
