Estherville Dead Man Identified

Estherville, IA (KICD) — The name of the deceased man found in Estherville has been released.

The Estherville Police Department is able to release identification of the body found on Friday morning August 22nd in the alley south of the business district in the 500 block of Central Avenue, was identified as 54-year old Thomas Pettit, formerly of Graettinger..

Early Friday morning, a female complaintant called 911 to report that she found a subject deceased in the alleyway. There appears to be no foul play in the death of Mr. Pettit. The Emmet County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted at the scene.

The body of Mr. Pettit was transported from the scene to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The results of the autopsy will be available in a few weeks.
