Estherville, IA (KICD) — A Ringsted man is injured in a two vehicle accident.

The Emmet County Sheriffs Office said the accident early Monday morning happened at the intersection of Highway 9 and 360th Avenue. 45-year old Timothy Anderson was heading north on 360th Avenue in a 2010 Ford Explorer. He didn’t see the stop sign at the T-intersection

Anderson was unable to stop, and struck a 2012 Volvo semi-tractor and trailer, pushing the semi into the ditch. The Explorer came to rest on the road. Anderson was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. The driver of the semi, 60-year old Mark Carlson of Stanhope, had no apparent injury.

Anderson was cited for failure to maintain control and running a stop sign.
