Jackson, MN (AP) — An escaped inmate from an Iowa work release facility was captured in Minnesota.
The Iowa Department of Corrections says an inmate who escaped from a work-release facility in Fort Dodge has been apprehended in Minnesota.
Department spokesman Fred Scaletta says 21-year-old Austin Dean Runnells was taken into custody Sunday in Jackson County. Additional information was not released.
The department says Runnells failed to return Friday to the facility from a job-seeking furlough.
Runnells is serving a 10-year sentence for a willful injury causing bodily injury conviction in Webster County. He began serving his sentence in June 2012. He was transferred to the work-release facility in November.
