EPA Administrator Battles “Misinformation”

Spencer, IA: (Jul 11, 2014) – EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy made a two-day swing through Missouri this week in full damage-control mode.

McCarthy first talked to farmers near Columbia and ended with a speech before the Agricultural Business council of Kansas City on Thursday.

EPA’s relationship with agriculture has been strained on a number of fronts, and McCarthy said farm country’s response to proposed modifications to the Waters of the U.S. rule caught the agency off guard.

McCarthy says she has been trying to combat misinformation about the proposed rule. McCarthy says she believes farmers and the EPA are on the same page when it comes to protecting water.
