Emmetsburg Hires Joint Superintendents

Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)– The Emmetsburg School District will have have two individuals share the role of interim Superintendent for the coming year.

Board President B.J. Schany tells KICD News that retired MOC-Floyd Valley Superintendent Gary Richardson will work 2.25 days a week in Emmetsburg while West Bend-Mallard Superintendent Amanda Schmidt will no spend 40 percent of her time in Emmetsburg.

Richardson will earn $54,000 and Schmidt will be paid the same by Emmetsburg for the coming year. Each district will receive $48,000 in sharing incentives from the state.

Schany says he hopes this may open the door to additional sharing with West Bend-Mallard down the line.
