Unofficial minutes from the meeting state that the Iowa DOT has deemed it necessary to have a county engineer for the Road Use Tax Fund. Informal discussions with Palo Alto County regarding sharing the position have been held. Dickinson and Kossuth County have not shown interest in providing engineering services.
A public hearing on the next year’s budget was also held. The budget included a two percent salary increase for all elected officials. This is half of what was recommended by the Emmet County Compensation Board.
