Eggs & Issues Recap

Spencer, IA (KICD)–Area legislators ran the gamut at the first Eggs and Issues session of 2014 on Saturday.
State Representative Jeff Smith of Spirit Lake says they are going to have an extremely challenging budget year buoyed by increasing education, Medicare, and other fixed expenses.

State Auditor Mary Mosiman says in addition to all of the state issues, all Iowans should be aware of what is happening with the federal government.

State Senator David Johnson of Ocheyedan says he believes that the closing of the Iowa Juvenile Home in Toledo will be a controversial topic this legislative session.
