Doon Man Sentenced

Doon, IA (KICD) — A Doon man charged with multiple drug related charges is sentenced to prison.

52-year old Douglas Hoppe was sentenced last week, after being convicted by a Lyon County jury on charges of conspiring with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine, but less that 5 kilograms, a class B felony, sponsering a gathering where controlled substances are used, a Class D Felony, and possession of Marijuana.

Hoppe received a 50 year sentence on the manufacture charge, 10 years on the sponsoring a gathering charge He must serve at least a third of the 50 years, along with a minimum of 3 years on the sponsoring charge. A total of $17,565 in fines were suspended.
