Dickinson County Accident

Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)–Two from Spirit Lake were injured in a Wednesday afternoon accident.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says Hope Tullis of Spirit Lake was stopped on the east side of County Road M-56 to to deliver mail. Valoris Johnson of Spirit Lake was heading north and his pickup rear-ended the Jeep of Tullis causing both vehicles to go into the east ditch. Tullis’ vehicle ended up on its side trapping her inside. Tullis had to be freed by the jaws of life.

Both Tullis and Johnson were transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. Johnson was cited for failure to stop within the assured clear distance ahead.
