Child Death Invesitgation


SPENCER, Iowa (AP) – Authorities are investigating the death of a 15-month-old child.
Paramedics were called to the home in Spencer Friday evening, with a child in distress. The child, identified as Jaren Rook, son of Joshua and Courtney Rook was taken to the Spencer Hospital. The baby died at the hospital.

Spencer Police Chief Mark Lawson says there weren’t any obvious signs of trauma, but police are investigating the death because of the child’s age, Forensic test results won’t be available for a couple weeks.
