Child Abduction Attempt

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Storm Lake Police are on the lookout for two males in connection to an alleged attempted abduction of two children.

Police were told by a 9-year-old male and a 7-year-old female that they were walking home from school at approximately 3:45PM in the 800 block of East 8th Street. An unknown gray or silver colored Traverse style vehicle occupied by two Hispanic males reportedly asked the children if they wanted some candy and also asked them to get into the SUV. The children did not comply and continued to walk home and then reported the incident to their mother, who subsequently called the police.

The subjects in the SUV were described both as Hispanic males mid twenties with shorter hair. The passenger was said to be wearing a white shirt and had a moustache. The suspects then left the area. The victims told police the men did not attempt to grab them or physically force them into the vehicle.

Anyone who sees a person and vehicle matching the aforementioned description is asked to contact local law enforcement as soon possible.
