Cherokee Tyson Plant Closing

Springdale, AR (KICD) – Tyson Foods plans to close its plant in Cherokee..

A company spokesperson says 450 people work at the facility. Donnie King, president of prepared food, customer and consumer solutions said it was a very difficult decision., but the plant has been struggling financially.and the corporation concluded it made no business sense to keep it open.

The plant will close on September 27.

Tyson also plans to close other facilities in New York and New Mexico.
