Spencer, IA (KICD) — Friday was Media Day at the Clay County Fairgrounds.

A showing of what’s new at the fair was shared with those in attendance, who also got to meet the Clay County and Iowa State Fair Queen Izzy Glover, and listen to staff’s presentations. Those in attendance then got a tour of the fair grounds, with Manager Jeremy Parsons pointing out changes.

Parsons also talked a bit about proposed projects for the Fair…

Parsons shared not only the new activities, but new infrastructure work on the grounds. He noted the work on the fair’s Gate A — or east gate — which was originally built in 1918 and remains the only original structure on the Clay County Fairgrounds.

He then spoke of another future project, the north Fair entrance…

The third big project being looked at is a redoing of the outdoor arena, which would include putting a roof over it.
