Spencer, IA (KICD) — Firefighters respond to a car on fire in north Spencer.

Shortly after 3 (this) Friday afternoon, the Fire Department was paged out to the North Y, for a report of a vehicle on fire. The unidentifiable car was traveling east on highway 18, approaching the intersection with Highway 71. Unofficial reports state the car overheated and flames erupted. The vehicle made it into the median, then the driver left the vehicle.

There’s no word on the driver’s name or if there were any injuries. As of 3:30, firefighters were still trying to extinguish the blaze in the car, which reportedly had a full tank of gas.
The Spencer Fire Department was still on scene, along with Spencer Police.
