All three occupants were initially taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. Rivera and a passenger were later life-flighted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Rivera was last listed in critical condition.

Others assisting include Sioux Rapids Police, Fire and Ambulance and Buena Vista Regional Paramedics.
