Buena Vista County Rollover

Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD)–A Friday evening accident landed three in the hospital.

The Buena Vista County Sheriff says 23-year-old Martin-Miguel Angel Rivera of Storm Lake was heading north on 160th Avenue, north of Highway 10, around 10:30 p.m. He lost control and entered the east ditch, the car rolled several times and ended up in a field. Rivera and a passenger, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected. The front passenger was wearing a seat belt and remained in the vehicle.

All three occupants were initially taken to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. Rivera and a passenger were later life-flighted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Rivera was last listed in critical condition.

Others assisting include Sioux Rapids Police, Fire and Ambulance and Buena Vista Regional Paramedics.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
