Boyden Accident Arrest


Boyden, IA (KICD) — A Sibley man is injured and a George man is arrested after a two vehicle accident.
  Shortly before 8 Friday morning, the Sioux County Sheriffs Office investigated a two vehicle accident, on Highway 18 one mile east of Boyden.  A 1998 Oldmobile Aurora, driven by 29-year old Fredrich Trei of George was eastbound on Highway 18, when he struck a westbound 2002 Dodge Durango, driven by 49-year old Frank Martinez of Sibley, after losing control and crossing into the westbound lane
  Martinez reported minor injuries, and sought medical attention on his own.  Further investigation was conducted by an officer who thought Trei was under the influence of a controlled substance.  He was arrested  for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-drugged, and was cited for Failure To Maiontain Control.  He was also charged with Possessing Contraband in a Correctional Facility.
  Damage to the Oldsmobile was approximately $3500, while the Dodge received an estimated $4000 in damages.  assisting at the scene was the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa State Patrol Drug Recognition Expert.
