Arnolds Park House Fire


Arnolds Park, IA (KICD) — Fire crews battle a fire Monday afternoon.
  Shortly after 3-pm, Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue was sent to 184 Park Place, in reference to smoke coming from a home.  Upon arrival, fire was seen coming through the roof of a garage attached to the home, and also burning into the structure.  A second home at 180 Park Place also had started on fire.
  Fire crews were called in from Milford and Spirit Lake to assist.  It took just about two hours before crews had all the fires extinguished.  There was no one home at either residence, at the time of the fire.  The house at 184 Park Place was a total loss, with damage estimated to be $200,000 to $225,000, while the 180 Park Place home received an estimated $25,000 in damage.  Some of the firefighters remained on scene until around 8-pm,
  There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, with the Iowa State Fire Marshall and the Arnold’s Park/Okoboji fire and Rescue working together.
  Also assisting at the scene was Arnolds Park, Okoboji and Milford Police Departments, the Dickinson County Sheriffs Office and Dickinson County Emergency Management.
