Emmetsburg, IA (KICD) — Two are injured in a three vehicle accident west of Emmetsburg.

The Palo Alto County Sheriffs Office said the accident occurred Monday, at the intersection of Highways 4 and 18.  70-year old John Larson of Emmetsburg was driving a 2007 Dodge Dakota, and was stopped behind a semi waiting to turn north onto Highway 18.  A 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven 25-year old Jami Lynne Webster, was also waiting behind the semi, when it was rear ended at high speed by a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by 16-year old Taylor Knight of Emmetsburg.

That collision pushed the Cruiser into the Dakota.  Knight and Webster were both injured in the accident, and were transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital by ambulance.  Larson was not injured in the accident.  Damage to Dakota is estimated at $6000, while the PT Cruiser received an estimated $15,000 in damage, and the Town and Country  had $10,000 in damage and was totalled.

Knight was cited for Failure To Maintain Control.  Also assisting at the scene was the Emmetsburg Fire Department, and the Iowa State Patrol.

Estherville, IA (KICD) — A Minnesota man is injured in a two vehicle accident.

Estherville Police said the accident occurred shortly before 10 last Thursday morning, at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 4, in Estherville.  25-year old Ashley Cooklin of Estherville was southbound on Highway 4, in a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, and entered the intersection, when she was struck by a westbound Chevy pickup, driven by 74-year old Frank Jorgenson.

It’s reported both drivers thought the light was green when they entered the intersection.  However, a witness behind the pickup said the light was red, and they were slowing for it.  Jorgenson received minor injuries, but didn’t require transportation to the hospital.  Cooklin was not injured.

There were no citations issued in the accident.

Fostoria, IA (KICD)–Possible minor injuries were reported following a Monday morning accident in Clay County at the intersection of 240th Avenue and 280th Street.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Danielle Dunn of rural Spencer was stopped at the northbound stop sign at 240th Ave and 280th St in a 2000 Ford Focus just before 8:00 a.m.  She failed to yield to cross traffic and pulled out in front of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am driven by 24-year-old Emily Ullrich of rural Spencer.  Ullrich was unable to avoid Dunn s vehicle and struck Dunn s vehicle across the front bumper, Ullrich s vehicle flipped and struck a west bound 2014 Chevy Suburban in the front quarter panel area driven by 42-year-old Kelly Olson of rural Dickens.

Ullrich s vehicle came to rest upright in the eastbound lane of 280th St, and the Suburban came to rest in the north ditch.  Dunn s vehicle came to rest in the intersection.

Dunn was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

Fostoria Fire and Rescue, the Iowa State Patrol,  and Spencer Hospital Paramedics assisted on scene.  Possible minor injuries were reported although no hospital visits were required
