Algona, IA (KICD) — Two from Algona received possible injuries after a collision.

Algona Police said the accident Friday morning, happened at the intersection of North Street and Thorington Street, in Algona. Melissa Carr was driving a 2009 Nissan Quest west on North Street, when she collided with a 2002 Dodge Caravan, driven by Nancy Loeschen of Algona, that was trying to make a left turn onto North from Thorington.

Both drivers said they never saw the other vehicle, and they collided. Carr and Loeschen both complained of possible injuries, and were taken to the hospital by family members.. Carr was cited for an expired registration, and Loeschen was charged with driving with an expired license.

 

O’Brien County Accident

Sutherland, IA (KICD) — Two from Sutherland received injuries in a single vehicle accident.

The O’Brien County Sheriffs Office said the accident happened around 5-pm Sunday, near the intersection of County Road B024 and 360th Street. Jay Elliott was driving a 2008 Dodge Van west, when he became distracted by a child in the second row of seats, and went off the road into the south ditch.

Jay Elliot and an infant, Charlotte Elliott received minor injuries. Two other passengers were not injured.
