Albert City Burglary

Albert City, IA (KICD) — Two from Marathon have been arrested in connection to a burglary.

The Buena Vista County Sheriffs Office says on April 18th, they received a report of a residential burglary that occurred at an Albert City residence. Taken in the burglary were numerous firearms, electronics and military uniforms. A joint investigation by the sheriffs office with the Laurens Police and the Pocahontas County Sheriffs Office led to the arrest of two from Marathon.

28-year old Douglas Strange and 26-year old Heidi Holstein were arrested after a search warrant was executed at her residence. The investigation produced the stolen weapons along with some other stolen property from the burglary in Buena Vista and Pocahontas Counties. Total value of the stolen items was estimated at over $3000.

Holstein was charged with Possession of Stolen property, Possession of a controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is being held in the Buena Vista County Jail. Strange has been charged with 4 counts of Trafficking of Stolen Firearms, 2nd Degree Theft, and 3rd Degree Burglary. He’s being held in jail on a $10,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are expected.
