Spencer House Fire

Spencer, IA (KICD)–An early Sunday morning fire took down a Spencer home.

Fire Chief Doug Duncan tells KICD News they were paged to 604 East 18th Street at 4:46 a.m. and arrived to find flames coming through the roof of the home. Over 11,000 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were on scene for four and a half hours with two pumpers, one ladder truck and support vehicles. 21 individuals worked the scene.

Nobody was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were were reported. The house was totalled. A damage estimate was unavailable until the insurance company comes up with a figure.

The cause and origin is unknown at this time.

Spencer Police and Hospital Paramedics assisted on scene.
