Hartley, IA (KICD) — A Hartley woman is arrested on drug charges.

On Saturday, the O’Brien County Sheriffs Office arrested 39-year old Jona Thompson. She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Mushrooms With Intent To Deliver, plus a methamphetamine related charge, along with Failure To Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.

Thompson was booked into the O’Brien County Jail.

 

Jackson, MN (KICD) — A Jackson man is arrested on drug charges.

The Jackson County Sheriffs Office arrested 30-year old Roland Ybarra 4th degree felony charge of sale of a controlled substance. On August 1st, Ybarra had sold approximately a half gram of methamphetamine to a confidential informant.

Upon execution of a search warrant at his residence, more meth was found and seized, along with an estimated $600 in quarters. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

 

Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake man is arrested on felony sexual assault charges.

On Monday morning, Storm Lake Police took a report involving a sexual assault. They were told by the victim that late Saturday night, her ex-boyfriend, 32-year old Jose Guerra Flores allegedly entered her residence through an unlocked door and without her permission.

Flores reportedly entered the victim’s bedroom and sexually assaulted her. Flores then confined the victim to her bed by physically restraining her as she attempted to escape. The victim reported that Sunday morning Flores left the residence.

Upon investigation, it was found that on or about June 15th, Flores allegedly sexually assaulted the victim while they were still in a relationship. Flores was found and taken into custody without incident.

Police charged Flores with 2 counts of Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree a class C felony, 1st Degree Burglary, a class B felony and False Imprisonment. He was booked into the Jail on a $25,000 bond.

 

Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake teen is charged after filing a false report.

On Monday evening, Storm Lake Police responded to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, police met with witnesses who said a 12-year old female was involved in an argument with her guardians, and ran from the residence.

The 12 year old went to the police station, allegedly reported that one of her guardians physically assaulted her at the residence. Police allege the juvenile made a false report and subsequently charged her with False Report to Law Enforcement. She was processed and released to a family member.

A report was filed with the Iowa Department of Human Services for follow up services to the family.

The case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Court Authority.

 

Storm Lake, IA (AP) — A 9-year-old Storm Lake boy has been accused of severely injuring a Chihuahua dog.

Storm Lake Police say the incident happened Saturday night. The boy is accused of picking up the dog and slamming it into the ground.
Police say the dog was taken to a veterinary clinic. The dog is paralyzed with a broken neck. The boy faces a charge of animal abuse and was released to his mother.
Police say they have filed a report with the state Department of Human Services.
