City Council Recap

Spencer, IA (KICD) — Trails and fences were discussed at last nights Spencer City Council meeting.

The proposed fencing around the skateboard park was discussed, with support for and against it. City Manager Bob Fagan tells KICD News why he and other council members support the fencing…

He says that there has been a lot of concerns about the park from citizens, as well…

Discussion about the approval of the North Spencer trail was a back and forth issue. On the good side, having it done for the citizens to use and enjoy was talked of, but the mention of businesses not wanting it through their properties, and citizens not wanting it in their back yards either was also brought up. The motion was carried after a good discussion.

The board also approved a contract for roofing of the city hall to H & S Roofing, at a cost of just under $46,000. The board also heard a presentation by a group about the allowing of backyard chicken coupe, but no action was taken on that.
