Terril, IA (KICD) — Three Terril women are cited on drug related charges, after a traffic stop.
On Wednesday morning, a Clay County Deputy made a traffic stop for an equipment violation. As the deputy approached the vehicle, he saw 19-year old Skylee Ferguson pulling her hand out of her shirt, and also smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Further investigation found that the driver, 19-year old Joya Salzkorn had given Ferguson marijuana, which she turned over to the deputy.
Both were arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail. Both were charged with Possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Salzkorn also was charged with no driver’s license. Asearch warrant was then obtained for the vehicle.
The search warrant for the vehicle was executed Thursday, and more drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs were found. Around midnight Friday morning, 18-year old Haylie Gillis was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia, and was released after posting bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Nemaha man wanted on a warrant is arrested, after a traffic stop.
On Thursday evening, Storm Lake Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. Upon identifying the driver, 23-year old Juan Calvillo-Covarrubias, it was found he had a suspended drivers license, and was wanted in Buena Vista County on a valid warrant.
Covarrubias was arrested on the outstanding warrant, and was additionally charged with Driving While Suspended. He was jailed without bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Colorado man is arrested on a car theft case.
On Thursday, a Storm Lake Police officer made a check on a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix that was unoccupied and parked in a parking lot, south of the Sunrise Park Campground, and found it was stolen from Sioux City August 13th.
The vehicle was processed and a suspect was identified as 40-year old Jeremy Krenz of Colorado Springs, who was working on a confinement building in Rembrandt. Krenz was found and was taken into custody. He was jailed on a charge of operating without owners consent. Additional arrests are possible, in the case.
