WASHINGTON (AP) — The House of Representatives has voted to keep Internet connections from being subject to taxes.

The House has voted to make permanent a moratorium that keeps state and local governments from adding on the same kind of connection fees that you often find tacked on to telephone bills.

The way the law stands now, the ban on new Internet connectivity taxes would expire Nov. 1.

The measure now goes on to the Senate.
