Des Moines, IA (AP) — A state board is giving grant funding to an Emmetsburg Community Center project.
The Vision Iowa Board announced the funding Thursday. at a meeting in Des Moines. The Emmetsburg Project at Five Island Lake has a total cost of just under $2,650,000, The request sent in was for $357,388, and the board approved $350,000, with the contingency that the rest of the fundraising must be completed within 60 days.
This project includes the construction of a 10,060-square-foot community room located on the shores of Five Island Lake. The facility will include an open floor plan to serve up to 325 guests, a large main conference room with additional meeting rooms, restrooms, a spacious kitchen facility, bar, lounge, golf pro shop, storage and offices.
Vision Iowa provides grants for recreational, cultural, education and entertainment facilities that enhance the quality of life in Iowa.
