Spencer, IA (KICD)–Today’s slick road conditions are a reminder of what will likely be many days this winter that pose a danger to drivers.
Iowa State Patrol Safety Education Officer Vincent Kurtz tells KICD News that all drivers should have an emergency kit in their vehicle just in case.
Kurtz says a wide array of items can be a part of an emergency kit, but the keys are keeping yourself warm, hydrated, and fed.
Kurtz talks about some other basic emergency kit items.
If you ever happen to get stuck in a winter storm, Kurtz stresses the importance of staying with your vehicle.
Having some kind of a high visibility flag will help you be spotted in case you become stranded.
