Spencer, IA (KICD)–Many area citizens have recently received mail from last Fall.
U.S. Postal Service Spokesperson Richard Watkins tells KICD News that a part time letter carrier who began working for them in January of 2012 would serve as a fill-in.
Watkins says under normal circumstances the postal services office of Inspector General would start an investigation to determine why the mail had not been delivered. However with the letter carrier passing away, no charges could be filed.
Watkins stresses they want to be as up front as possible.
Some of the communities affected include Spencer, Linn Grove, Sioux Rapids, Albert City, Newell and Clarion.
