Spencer, IA (KICD) — A Spencer man makes a threat by driving a semi into a house.
The Spencer Police Department said around 4:18 Saturday morning, received the report of a semi driving into a residence, at 130 East 3rd Street, owned by Kent Sassman, of Webb. The semi then left the scene, but was stopped a short time later at the intersection of East 4th Street and 1st Avenue East.
The driver of the semi, 22-year old Hayden Theesfeld of Spencer stole the 2002 Peterbilt from Spencer Truckline, then driving to the residence, then driving the semi into the front porch, causing extensive damage to the residence.
Theesfeld told Police he was angry at the occupant of the residence, and wanted to scare him into leaving Spencer. Theesfeld was then arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail on charges of Criminal Mischief 1st degree, Assault With a Dangerous Weapon, Operation Without Owner’s Consent, Reckless Driving and No Valid Drivers License.
Damage to the house was estimated at $8000, while the semi received $7000 in damages. Theesfeld was not injured in the crash.
