Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Waterloo woman charged in a series of thefts in Iowa and Minnesota now faces additional charges.
On September 18th, Storm Lake Police reported the arrest of 34-year old Shannon Cannon, in connection with a series of alleged thefts at eighteen different Wal-Mart locations in Iowa and Minnesota. It’s alleged she used the technique of clogging toilets at the stores and then making a claim for damages from the overflowing toilets.
Upon further investigation, Storm Lake Police determined that on several occasions she took her young children with her and allegedly used her 8 year old daughter as part of her reported scam.
On Monday, Cannon was additionally charged with Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a class B felony, Using a Juvenile to Commit a Crime, a class C felony,4th Degree Fraudulent Practices and Criminal Trespass Causing Damage..
Cannon was arrested Monday by the Waterloo Police Department on the Storm Lake Police Department warrants and booked into the Black Hawk County Jail on a $25,000.00 cash bond awaiting transfer to the Buena Vista County Jail.
