Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake man is arrested after a confrontation with police.
Thursday afternoon, Storm Lake Police were leaving their office, when 68-year old Robert Willians was spotted sitting in a truck just north of the station. He waved for police to come over to him.
As they did, Williams allegedly began cursing at officers and shouting over his dissatisfaction at police for investigating a complaint that he parked his vehicles for lengthy periods of time on the street at his residence. The complaint occurred on Wednesday.
As police attempted to calm Williams down, he reportedly continued to shout and curse at officers, then attempted to drive away and was told to stop and shut his vehicle off. Williams refused and officers reached in the window of his vehicle and turned it off. Williams was arrested at which time he allegedly resisted officers but was taken to the ground and subdued.
Storm Lake Police transported Williams to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for evaluation. He was later transferred to the Buena Vista County Jail and was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Interference With Official Acts. He was booked in on a $600.00 cash bond.
