Spencer, IA (KICD) — Lots of numbers were shared and discussed at the Spencer School Board meeting.
Before the regular meeting, there was a joint meeting with the board and the SIAC committee. Superintendant Terry Heeman tells how the school fared.
The board discussed a refinancing of a loan , were told by refinancing it at a lower rate, it would save the school $64,300.
The Reynolds Elementary Building was talked about, and Heeman shared with the board his thoughts on what should be done with it…
The building had fire damage when owned by the previous owner, who didn’t have insurance to cover damage repairs. Heeman noted the building doesnt meet the Americans With Disabilities Act standards of accessibility.
the board also received good numbers on certified enrollment, as it increased by 6.67 students, and open enrollment numbers included 74 enrollments out and 121 open enrollments in.
The Spencer School Board will have a special meeting November 5th, with the next regular meeting set for November 26th.
