Spencer Native Serving as U.S. Air Force Academy Superintendent
Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Spencer native has been serving as Superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy for the past four months, the first ever female to hold the post.
Lieutenant General Michelle Johnson and her family lived in a variety of locations and she attended middle and high school in Spencer and graduated in 1977.
Johnson was a Rhodes Scholar and obtained a Masters Degree from Oxford University after graduating from the Air Force Academy.
Johnson had to deal with some issues being a woman in the force.
Johnson shared the following advice for some of our younger listeners.
Johnson closed our exclusive interview by sending a shout to all of her friends, neighbors, mentors, and teammates from Spencer and the Iowa Great Lakes region.
