Spencer, IA (KICD)–Our preview of Spencer’s Flagfest weekend continues with a look at Saturday’s activities.
The morning starts with the 3rd Annual Run for the Son 10K/5K Walk/Runat 6:30 with the Road Race to start at 7:30. Chamber Program Director Becky Fear-Hatting tells KICD News that their famous parade starts at 11:00 a.m.. This year’s parade route starts at Gate C at the Clay County Fairgrounds, then East on West 14th Street, then South on Grand Avenue, then West on West 4th Street to 3rd Avenue West.
Folks can take part in the Grand Cruise with old hot rods, classics, muscle cars, antiques, and good old Rock & Roll music from 6-10 p.m. along Grand Avenue.
The Parker Historical Society of Clay County will be showing a photo exhibit from the National Sprint Car Museum and Hall of Fame in Knoxville including 20 photographs of the First World of Outlaws race in Mesquite, TX in 1978. This display will be located at the Clay County Heritage Center all day long.
The Rocket Suzie Indie Folk music festival runs from 1-11 p.m. on the banks of the Little Sioux River at the Bear.
