Spencer, IA (KICD)–A short meeting of the Spencer City Council took place on Monday night.
The council approved an Iowa DOT Federal-aid agreement for a Surface Transportation Program project. The project consists of a HMA resurfacing of East 18th Street from US 18/US 71 to 5th Avenue East and is slated for next Summer. The total cost of the project is approximately $240,000, with 50% of the project being paid for by STP funds and the remainder be paid out of Street Reserve.
Mayor Reynold Peterson reminded the public that the city will be holding a goal setting session which starts this Friday at 4:00 at the Spencer Golf & Country Club.
Sherry Zinn was appointed to the Library Board and Renaissance Initiative Committee. Both terms expire at the end of June next year.
