Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer City Council will meet in regular session this evening.
The 2nd filing of an ordinance zoning change which would clear the way for the Iowah Chicken Bullion project to proceed will take place. Hensall Condiments is looking to construct a 150,000 square foot building at the Green Industrial Center. A motion to suspend the rules and move forward with the final filing is also listed on the agenda.
The council will also take up a recommendation from the Compensation Advisory Board to increase compensation for the Mayor to $9,030 per year plus $700 per year car allowance and to retain the compensation of the Council Members of $4,830 per year, plus $400 per year car allowance. If approved the new pay scale would go into effect on January 1st.
Approval of some technology upgrades for the city is also on the docket. The motion on the table calls for spending $7,990 for Chromebooks, ChromeOS Management, and Wireless Access Points with a 5 Year License and Installation agreement; and $4,395 for City Hall Upgrades, including a Cisco Switch, Watchguard Firewall and Installation, from the Technology Fund;
The Committee of the Whole will gather at 5:45 for a 2012-13 fiscal year financial review.
