Spencer, IA (KICD)–The results are in and the Spencer School District continues to improve on their district wide ACT scores.
High School Principal Joe Mueting tells KICD News they have seen a steady increase on their trend line for 9 years now.
Spencer’s composite score of 23.1 compares favorably to the statewide average of 22.1. The district’s 23.8 mark in science is well above the 22.2 mark across the state. Mueting talks about some of the factors for why these 86 students who took the ACT’s continue to show improvement.
Spencer’s district score of 22.7 in english compares to 21.5 for the state. In reading Spencer scores a 23.5, which is a full point above the statewide average. The Mathematics figure of 21.6 is even with the state. All of the scores excluding math hit their readiness benchmark for college courses except math where a score of 22 is the benchmark
The next ACT testing date is scheduled for September 21st.
