Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)–The Dickinson County Conservation Board has hired a new Executive Director.
Waterloo native Lee Sorenson tells KICD News he attended Iowa State University and received a Bachelors degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology. While attending college he did seasonal work for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in Southwest Iowa. After graduation he was hired as a Park Ranger in the County Conservation Board system, after two years he was hired as Iowa County Director where he served for 12 years.
Sorenson hopes his administrative, budgeting, and finance experience will be an asset on the job.
Lee Sorenson was hired after the former Executive Director Rich Leopold took a position with the Polk County Conservation Board in May of 2013.
