Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD)–The Sioux Central School District is progressing towards a facility upgrade special election on February 4th.
Superintendent Scott Williamson tells KICD News that the levy to pay off their school building is set to sunset in June.
Williamson says that the district is currently analyzing results from a recent survey asking what the public is in support of, and they are in support of roof replacement.
The creation of a walk-in freezer and dry storage area has also garnered support.
The first public forum regarding facility upgrades is slated for 7:00 Wednesday evening in the commons area at the SIoux Rapids School with another forum scheduled for December 11th.
The final notice and ballot is slated to be submitted to the Buena Vista county auditor on or before Friday December 20th with an eye towards a February 4th election.
