Sheldon, IA (KICD) — 3 people from Sioux City are arrested in connection with a residential O’Brien County theft.
A traffic stop was made by an O’Brien County Deputy shortly before 8-am on September 26th, on Highway 18 in Sheldon. All three subjects in the car had active warrants, and were arrested and taken into custody.
A subsequent investigation produced stolen property in the vehicle, including money, a shotgun, ammunition and a television stolen from a rural residence in O’Brien County
. As a result, 23-year old Dustin Mauer’s warrant was for Probation Violation and forgery, and faces new charges of 4th Degree Theft, and Failure To Have a Valid Drivers License. 19-year old Austin Pate had an arrest warrant for Probation Violation/Burglary, and faces a new charge of 4th Degree Theft. 39-year old Lana VandenBrink had a warrant ouf of Plymouth County for Probation Violation/Forgery, and now faces additional charges of Forgery, a class D felony, 4th Degree Theft, and Interference With Official Acts, which was brought on due to Vanden Brink giving authorities a false name, knowing she had active arrest warrants, to avoid arrest.
Vanden Brink is being held in the O’Brien County Jail on a $5000 bond, while Mauer and Pate are being held in the O’Brien County Jail with a bond of $1000.
