Sheldon, IA (KICD) — A Sheldon man is arrested after a suspicious person report.
Shortly before 4:30 Saturday morning, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated the report of a suspicious person on 340th Street, 4 miles southwest of Sheldon. The caller reported that someone had stopped at their residence and appeared lost. The suspicious person left the area before deputies arrived.
Upon further investigation, deputies located a 2001 Chevrolet S10 pickup in the south ditch of Lily Avenue, 4 miles southwest of Sheldon. The driver, 18-year old Nicholas Emery was located by the officers near Northwest Iowa Community College just west of Sheldon.
No injuries were reported, and the Chevrolet sustained approximately $3,000 damage. Emery was arrested for operating while intoxicated and cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
