Schilling, who works in human resources at V.H. Manufacturing in Rock Valley, split the prize with her husband, Dave, who works at the Norwesco plastics manufacturing plant in Sheldon, He said he didn’t believe the good news at first.
Debbie Schilling bought the couple’s winning ticket at Casey’s, in Sheldon. Their ticket was one of five across the country that each won a $1 million prize Saturday. No one won the jackpot that night, so Powerball’s top prize climbs to an estimated $108 million for Wednesday.
The couple, who have six adult children, two of whom are in college, and seven grandchildren, said they look forward to using their lottery winnings to pay some debts and help their family.
