Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–An Early man has been arrested in connection to numerous sexual assaults of a 14-year-old girl.
Storm Lake Police first learned of the case earlier this month. After an investigation which included forensic interviews with the victim by the Mercy Child Advocacy Center in Sioux City it was alleged that the girl had been sexually assaulted several times over the past two months by 40-year-old Paz Chica, who was an ex-boyfriend of the victim’s mother. Police were able to determine that other assaults occurred in other jurisdictions as well. Storm Lake Police have been in contact with these jurisdictions so follow-up can be done there.
On Tuesday Chica was charged with two class D felony counts of Lascivious Acts with Minor, two class C felony charges of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, and one count of Indecent Exposure. Chica was held in Buena Vista County jail on a $30,300 bond.
The Iowa Department of Human Services and the Sac County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
