Saturday Severe Weather

KICD (Spencer) – A strong line of thunderstorms moved through northwest Iowa Saturday morning.

The KICD Weather Department went on air shortly after 10:30am when the first thunderstorm warning was issued for Clay and O’Brien counties.  Palo Alto, Pocahontas and Kossuth counties were also issued thunderstorm warnings.

There were numerous reports of flooding all around the area.  Several trees were down in Paullina and Laurens.  There were reports of hail by Calumet.  In some locations with the excessive winds, rain and hail, visibility was very poor, down to 75 feet in some areas.

The city of Sutherland was reported with no power for a period of time Saturday morning.
